HELLO!!!!
So much as happened this week. I am not really sure how to start and with what info I should start with . . . hummm. . .
Any Idea's anyone??
Well, Yesterday- Sunday- I gave a talk in sacrament meeting. It was about the Book of Mormon. I am told that I did a good job. I felt the spirit testify through me to the members. We had 5 investigators there... So it was a great Sunday!
As for the rest of the week. We lost two full days- why you ask- because yours truly GOT SICK! Ah man for reals. I felt ill last Friday so I got a blessing from the Elders we share the car with. I felt better. .for a time. Then I got a sore throat, Monday I was fine, Tuesday I slept all day- It was only a head cold. I knew it was going to go away the next day. Wednesday hit and we went out to work. I push myself and by bed time I was NOT feeling better- I slept all day Thursday. My companions called my mission mother and she made me go to the doctors. Listening, even though I knew it was a head cold, we went to the instant care and I got checked. Well. . Sister Durr is NOT a doctor come to find out. I was sick with a sinus infection- SICK! AND acute bronchitis. Yeah . . . so the doctor has me on antibiotics and I am feeling so much better!!! YAY! 100% in due time I won’t need to blow my nose every 5 min. hahaha But this slight sickness has NOT stopped the work. The Lord knew I was sick and that I needed to get better. Even though we lost 2 full days we were able and blessed to teach 30 lessons. This is a lot in 5 days! We killed this week with high spirits, new investigators and more baptism dates!
Tomorrow is transfers. Elder Lasitani will be here later today. We have learned our fate as a companionship. Sister Reynolds is leaving us. I get the blessing to finish training Sister Ploth. She and I are so excited to stay together, especially now that the Holidays are among us. We bought a Christmas tree Saturday afternoon at a yard sale that we biked pasted. . A $50.00 pre-lite tree for $7.00!!! We couldn't pass it up! Ha-ha That's what's up.
Cool story for the week. My companions were cleaning up the area book one day that I was sleeping. And they came across a less-active man. They called him and found out that he had moved but the Lady is living with could use some help. Who we learned was also a less-active. So they called her and set up a time- the next day to go visit her on her request. We go there the next day and teach her about Hope and Faith. The spirit was there and it was incredible. The coolest part. . . She has a roommate that joined us for the lesson. Jose. I handed him a BOM because we were reading from it. I asked him if he was a member "no". So we kind of directed the lesson to him even though it was for her. Before we left Jose asked "Can I have this book?" Best question a mission can hear. "YES". We set up another time to go back and teach him. The second visit was just as good. He accepted baptism with no hesitation. Now we have a goal to teach Law of Chastity. . Ek! I love how the Lord works and when we listen He guides us even more. We were supposed to go visit this sister so we could meet Jose.
I love you all so much!!!
The Holidays are coming and I am far from home. DONT FORGET ME AND KEVIN!
P.S. I hate bugs! They love me. Let’s say that my legs are UGLY! And they itch. Gross right. Sometimes the itching keeps me up at night. The itch cream doesn't work sometimes. I am glad it is getting a little cooler so they go AWAY! Hahaha that was my last thought. Sister S. Durr is peace-ing out!
XOXOXO
Sister Shannon Durr
