FAMILY!!

I hope I have enough time to write you all that I want to. I think I have always started out my emails that way. . hummmm. . well. . so be it cus it is true! I hope you all had the best 4th of July! I know I did. We were able to go down to the Halifax river and see the fireworks shoot off from there. It was AWESOME! There were so many people.. the moon came up and it was RED. . so sweet! We had a great time with the members that we went with. We were super tired after. .late night. . and tired the next day. . but we continued to work hard!
As you see from the pictures. .CAROLE was BAPTIZED!! YAHOOO and it was powerful! We did something different. . we started in the chapel then moved in the R.S. room for the ordinance. The spirit was out of this world and everyone felt it. Our gator Shane came with his wife.

Me and my Beautiful companion: I am doing great. This week was one of learning personal learning. Sister Walborn has helped me in ways that I know no other sister could. I went through the emotions of "running out of time." But yet we are in the middle of our mission and there is still SO MUCH TIME left! She is helping me so much. Giving me more motivation to go out and work. We are perfect for each other right now in our missions. I couldn't have asked for a better companion. We have been able to wipe our tears, get Priesthood blessings from our District leader and continue to build that air plane in the sky. Nothing is slowly us down.

The area is great! We are working on building it so more. We are working with some pretty awesome people, they are all preparing for baptism but they wont agree to a date but we have invited them. Robert is working on getting a divorce still so he can be baptized. Shane has to take care of his serious addictions, Sarah  will get baptized but doesn't have confidence in accepting a date while she is still smoking, she now works on Sunday mornings so that puts a halt on alot. Patrick wants baptism as well. . but is preparing to serve more time in Jail. There is full potential to get these people into the waters of baptism and for confirmation, satan is good at what he does, BUT CHRIST is better! The baptism of Carole  was AWESOME! This past Tuesday morning at our bishop meeting we did a role play of the baptism service. He received revelation that the baptisms would be better and more spiritual if they started in the chapel. Tuesday during the role play we all felt that this was right. Saturday being the real thing it was a BIG hit! and the spirit was indescribable. They will for now on start and end in the chapel. The reverence for that baptism was incredible!  We are working and learning on how to help the ward leadership. Working with Bishop Pillow has been wonderful! We are still working on Gerald. He received a priesthood blessing as well. When we walked into his home I FELT the spirit of the Lord walk in with us. I have also never felt it this powerful before. We gave a small lesson on the Priesthood, they administered, we said but a few words again, prayed and left. . leaving that spirit in there with him. He is on his way to feeling better so he can be baptized and confirmed as well. So AWESOME being a part of this work!

The Elders had a baptism yesterday. It took place in a swimming pool due to the health of the gator. It was a really cool baptism to witness. It took four priesthood holders to get her into the pool. Her grandson baptized her. It was AWESOME! Even though it wasn't at the church, that saving ordinance was real and powerful. Remember it isn't the water it is the Priesthood. (There is a really cool scripture I read the other day that would work perfect right here but I can't find it. . bummer)
We picked up two new people this week. That has been hard for us. . finding more gators, (we are behind on our vision for teaching new people) Mike and Michael, father and son. They are family to a recent convert. Mike is the father. I wish you could have been there for this drop in lesson. They are way cool and the ward leaders are on top to getting him to repent, be baptized and confirmed! I have never felt this kind of guidance before with an investigator and the ward leaders, This should be the same feeling for all gators. Working on it!
This work is amazing. I love being a part of it. I love you all so much! I am staying focused. . which is NOT easy I could use all the encouragement to stay focused so what you could do to help me is having you stay focus as well :-) GO OUT AND SHARE THE GOSPEL!!! and then write me and tell me about it! haha
 4th of July- Watermelon!

Baptism of Carole. Her favorite color is purple. . so we wore it!

 All My Love,
 Sister Shannon Durr
