Hello my wonderful Family!
I hope this email is finding you all happy and well! A lot has happened this week and so I hope I don’t leave anything out. Well I seems like A LOT happened but in reality, I am not sure a lot did. Not anything that I SHOULD share with you but here I go anyways.
There wasn't a baptism this past Sunday. We are still working hard with the investigators that we have. It has been one slow week. The Holiday season is proving to be our enemy instead of a help. Everyone is "too busy" to see us. Surprised? Yes, I am super shocked I expected something different.
Our main Man- Jose moved to another area so we have to send Elders over to him. He will be solid for them. We meet some awesome people on Tuesday, but then a couple days later they weren't interested. Free Agency ROCKS! We have meet some really cool Part-Member families that we are praying will lead to some awesome membership. The only problem is the member of the family is in-active. So we are working on getting them active so their spouse can see the blessings. Pray for us. We have also tried to contact former investigators, not much luck there. The other day we were knocking on the doors of super inactive members. We knew someone was home at this one house. Well I guess I rang the doorbell- one too many times. We heard on the other side of the door, some choice words that told us this man was NOT happy with us. We walked away from the door and rounded the corner where he couldn't see us. He opened the door and told us to "BEAT IT" with some more colorful words. SCARY! We wet our pants. Hahaha we laugh about it now, and we laughed seconds after it happened, because that normally doesn't happen to sisters . . . to us! This past week, we did exchanges; I spent 24 hours in Deltona, about 45 min away from Lake Mary. That was fun. We meet a cool lady who once was member of the church but now is a member of another church. She is from Long Island NY. So cool. This week we have ran into A LOT of people who were baptized into this church that no longer want any part and attend another church. For reals? It happens!
Our investigators are doing well. Other than us not being able to see them. We are hoping that our eyes widen up so we can see the miracles all around us that are there, but sometimes I am blinded to them. IT HAS been a rough week. Trying and yet I am still here plugging along trying to find those who are ready and willing!
I love you all so much! Please pray for us that we will be lead to those who want Christ for Christmas.
All My Love!
Sister Shannon Durr
