GREETINGS EARTHLINGS!
I come to you this day in high spirits, hope, and laughter and yes I am doing and feeling a lot better. I got to spend my 10 month mark in the ER. I was having really bad, sharp stabbing pains in my stomach. So we went to the urgent care, they couldn't figure it out, so they sent me to the ER. What a ride! They thought I was pregnant! For reals!!! I know it was protocol. But NO I AM NOT PREGO! O man, the Elder's I am serving around have sure gotten a big kick out of that! Hahaha we have too. I got a cat-scan! That was fun! They found out that I had/have appengisitus, not appendicitis. Something on the left side of my tummy was twisted and it was pinching. I am doing a ton better. They gave me medicine that makes me really drowsy and loopy. Not a fan. Anyways. I am doing really well. This took up all of Friday, and pulled us down on Saturday and Sunday. What an adventure! I AM BETTER! And now back to working hard this last week of the transfer.
Our gators are doing well. We are teaching a really wonderful lady named Allison. We go back this week to see her and to teach her family. She has been so prepared for this gospel! We are still teaching Jerry, we did some service for him this past week. I am never raked so many leaves in my life, and pulled Spanish moss of the tree! He is so funny!
Cool experience: The other day we were going to teach a girl named Agnes. She wasn't home when we went and so back up plan- we went to see our gators in the area- daily contact. We were biking towards home for dinner when I get this thought to go and see Malachi and Kim Montgomery. We turn out bikes around and head over. We were biking one way and two boys where coming in our direction. They go around us. We say Hello when out of nowhere Sister Ploth stops her bike really fast! I close behind her. She turns and goes "I know that kid!" We yell at them and wave them to come back towards us. One of the boys Sister Ploth worked with in the summer time in N.C. She did missionary work with him before she came out to the field. She knew that he was moving to Florida. 11 Weeks after being here the Lord put us in his path. Out of all of FL he moves to Winter Springs, and out of all the area's The Lord put her in Winter Springs. It was such a cool experience, it felt like I knew him too. We see him this week. It was so cool!!
I am so happy that Christmas is this week, and to call home! YAHOO. Time is just flying by! I have been reflecting a lot about the season and the reason for the joy and excitement. I always have President Monson's words echo in my head "All we need to do is take the last syllable off of Christmas and you have CHIRIST." The Spirit of Christmas needs to be The Spirit of Christ, all year long. I love those words! The birth of our Savior Jesus Christ is precious! His Atonement is real. Sister Ploth and I were talking about it this morning. He entered into this world the most humble way and He left this world the most humble way. He gave His life for us so we can go back into His presence and the presence of our Heavenly Father. I am forever in debt. I know that He is my Savior and Redeemer. I know HE LIVES!!! His love is real. This season is one not to forget. In His service. I get to go out and tell EVERYONE about Him and His life and how they can be happy. I realize today, while sitting here in the library, there is a gentleman sitting next to me, Hassan, He started to talk to me "Are you from Utah?" Yes!! He is asking for it. A lot of my time went to talking to him about why people from Utah are so pleasant and happy. And now we get to share with him why! We got an apt, with him for Saturday. I am happy because of this Gospel and now I get to share it with him. I love this work and I love this season. I want to be encircled in his arms always! I know this is His church and I am grateful to be a part of it!
I hope you all feel the Christmas season and hope you feel the urge to share the gospel with someone who doesn't have it. Go out and share your testimony with someone who needs it! I love you all so much and look forward to emailing next week. I think we get to!
All My Love,
Sister Durr
