Hello Everyone!!!
We are being blessed like CRAZY! I am excited to report to you of this past week and what the Lord has blessed us with. I want to first start off with telling you about the investigators that we have!
We meet with our friend- Kevin- whom hasn't been able to come to church due to working. We fasted for him two weeks ago and found out last night after calling home that he DID get this new job at the college and NO LONGER WORKS ON SUNDAY'S!!! There again another answer to prayers and how much the Lord does provide a way! We couldn't be more happy to have received this news! We can now set a firm date for baptism with him! We taught him a lesson the other day. The lesson was so good and the spirit was so strong that when we were leaving I stuck my hand out, to shake hands, and he HUGGED ME!!! hahahaha Sister Christensen couldn't STOP laughing!! He didn't know any better, A man!!! It was so funny!!
On Tuesday Sister Christensen and I got caught in our first Florida rain storm. .that lasted only 15 min. Straight down pour. . and Yes we were on our bikes! Can you say SOAK AND WET!! From Head to Toe! it was like we jumped in a swimming pool with our clothes on! For anyone who knows me really well. . I had the BEST TIME!! haha I loved every minute of this storm. We were on our way to a lesson so when we got to the apt. there was no way that we were going to go inside, and get everything wet, plus we didn't have another female to go inside and teach this gentleman. So we taught him outside his door. It was a good lesson but he is not ready for the full gospel, and we found out that he was not going to be home for the summer. We are planning to go back in August to see him again. The lesson wasn't very long, so after we tracted. That is when we knocked on the door of Natasha! She opened the door half asleep, we gave her a pass-a-long card, she looked at it and asked for two. She said that she had a book with a picture of the SLC temple on it, she said she really loved what she read from it, very interesting, We set up another time to go back and told her to have this book ready for us
to see what book she was talking about. We later learned upon going back the next day that she thought we were Jehovah Witnesses, We cleared that up REAL fast! She couldn't find the book with the temple on it, but as we started with prayer and began teaching her the spirit was evident. She broke down in tears telling us that this is what she has been looking for, to feel the Love of God back in her life. We learned her story that when she moved here two years ago she was riding on a bus. When two elders started talking to her and gave her this book with the temple on it. She learned after they got off the bus that she was on the wrong bus! She was supposed to be on that bus for those two Elders to set the seed in place for US to find her two years later by knocking on her door. Natasha came to church yesterday and LOVED every minute of it. She couldn't stop smiling. The Lord provides a way! She even wants to send the missionaries to her mom in Ft. Lauderdale :-)
On Thursday we were walked to another appointment. We left our appointment early so we could stop and talk to people or tract if we arrived too early. It was also meant to be. We meet a young girl, Monique, who was sitting at a non-bus-stop. We talked to her, and set up another appointment for Saturday. We go to her place and that was INCREDIBLE!!! She is also ready and prepared to hear this gospel message! She came to church yesterday too and LOVED it all. We later found out her story. She was job hunting that morning that we talked to her, she was tired from walking and needed to sit. As she was sitting she started to pray to God, asking him for help, asking him for guidance, Asking him to talk to her! The SECONDS later we walked up and started talking to her!!! I hope you can see from these two stories how much the Lord guides missionary work and how much we can be His tools! I know both these girls have been placed in our path to teach and share with them the gospel!!
Our awesome friend Kent! He is so excited for his baptism at the End of May! He came to church also yesterday. . (YES that means we had THREE new investigators at church who are ALL ready to be baptized!!) He is the funniest kid that we have taught thus far! We put him on the quit smoking program this week and has been going strong with not smoking! He has the will and we provided the way! He loves learning new things especially about the gospel, he is so smart and knows a lot already from meeting with the missionaries in Mississippi. He is so great!!
The work is moving fast here in Orlando. We are being blessed beyond what we thought possible! And we know that as we continue to work hard, fast and pray, the Lord will continue to provide!! I have complete confidence and Trust in the Lord! Being Senior Companion has helped me in ways that I didn't think I needed. Being able to serve has helped me have more trust in the Lord and is teaching me to be a better missionary EVERYDAY!! I love this work.
Some fun facts!
Being caught in a rain storm was awesome!! and it helped us be better prepared, learning that yes ALL your stuff inside your bag can and will get as wet as you do!
Saving-moving turtles from harms way is rewarding.
Baptism's can be non-stressful especially when the ward is so willing to help!
Sister Christensen and I love killing the awesome roaches in our bathroom, including the HUGE palmetto bug (roach look a like with wings!!) I wish I could have captured that one on camera!! hahahah we died laughing!
The alarm goes off before we even fall asleep!!
Sweat and rejection are a good mix! and keeps you on your feet!
That is just a few! I Love you all so much! I pray for you always!!! Thank you for those who are praying for the missionaries and for missionary opportunities! Thank you for the letters that you all take time to mail to me! You have no idea how cool it is to see mail in the mail box at the end of the day!!!
P.S. BECCA!!! I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU AND YOUR TEMPLE EXPERIENCE!!!!
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!
