HELLO EVERYONE!!
The reason for my subject line. I am really feeling the missionary roller coaster. For those of you know have served you know what I am talking about. For those of you who haven't, it is the up of being so over joyed because you can see the Lord blessing you, and the down of people making their own decisions and choices to not hear the gospel, by not seeing us anymore. The up of using the Atonement and remembering that the Savior is there for us when we are in the down part. The up of reading the scriptures and gaining trust in the Lord. This is His work so He is going to use us the way He wants. We must get over ourselves to help those that are sent to us.
This week was one of those weeks. Up and Down. UP UP UP down. . and now getting back up again. I read this morning that " . . blessings come to those who trusteth in Him." How true it is, for all of us to put our trust in the Lord, especially as servants to the Lord.
For the investigators we have. .
Monique- went home last weekend and we saw her this past week. She dropped us :-( She got "antied" by her mom and therefore resulted in not wanting to see us anymore. I have learned that even though she is not ready at this time. The spirit was there teaching her and we know she felt it! Now is not her time.
Mark- He is a true hustler! haha He is looking to change his life. from gangster- no home, to being at one, having peace with God. He is our neighbor. hahaha He is a really cool kid and wants to change.
Manuel- He is pretty cool. We feel that he is not going to change soon but he did make it to church. We are searching for ways that we can help him feel the spirit. . we have tried everything in the book, we pray a lot for him and see that he wants to accept but know that he is holding onto something that is holding him back from really feeling.
Margarita! She is so AWESOME! She is a little worry wart that has a hard time explaining herself! lol We love her. She wants a firm foundation in a belief and knows that she is finally finding something that will give her that firm foundation! :-) What we doing to work with her is getting her to see that she can make the time while still doing school and everything.
Sister Christensen and I are working hard in our area. We know that since summer is rolling around that it will be a little challenging to get the students here to meet with us, but we have set goals to stay happy (which is the hardest part) and having a good attitude about tracking, contact and knocking doors. In our ward we have started a new thing called "M&M's" I can't remember if I told you all about it last week. But it is a new way that we are trying to get the members to bring their non-member or in-active friends into the church. We missionaries (us and the elders) teach a small fun lesson, while everyone enjoys the M&M's that are provided. Next week Sister Christensen and I have the lesson. We will be planning on teaching Obedience. So if ANY OF YOU. . have a fun object- hands on lesson for teaching obedience PLEASE send it my way. We like the cheesy lessons, because it gets the attendees' active and awake and it is awesome. Last week we taught the Plan of Salvation. We had everyone move from room to room that represented a phase in the Plan. It was incredible! The spirit was so strong and it moved the lesson into an awesome testimony sharing time. Best experience ever!!!!
Calling all helpers. . IDEA'S of how to teach obedience in a fun awesome way. Mom- how would you teach the YW. . . something they will always remember!
I am doing super great! Tyring to deal with the Ups and Downs is all. I know why I am here and I am focusing on the people who need this gospel through us. I am learning to love this work everyday, and learning how to eat well on a little budget. hahahaha :-)
I love you all so much!! I hope that everyone is well. Bradley and Kristi, I haven't heard from you in a long time. . and would love to hear how you are. Kristi, I had a dream that I saw you and your cute baby belly. I would love some current pictures of you! and of Zaiden!. . Bradley your face would be nice to see as well. . . I LOVE PICTURES!
Love you all!!!! xoxoxoxox
