GOOD MORNING!!
Hold on to your seats everyone, I am excited to tell you about this week. The Lord has shown His hand and tender mercies to us here in College Park! I don't even know where to begin, other than my eyes and body are feeling the hard work.
We had 5 investigators at church yesterday. The most ever!! They all stayed for the Baptism (the elders investigator) after. As far as we know they all felt the spirit. I felt the spirit so strongly! It was an amazing experience to see our recent convert Kent- baptize his best friend!! I couldn't hold the tear back, and still can't every time I think about yesterday and the powerful feelings!
We were able to teach a member referral this week. He came to us with a baptism date already. He is so ready for baptism and can't wait. He is set to be baptized July 3rd! His name is Matthew and he sounds exactly like Peter Parker. . AKA Spider man. He is prepared!
This is a funny story. So last week we tracted into this kid named Nathaniel. He agreed to see us the following week ( June 22) We went back on that day with a member with us. We had called him the day before to make sure he was still interested and would be home. We went and yes, he was home- he answered the door in nothing but his tight little boxers. . hahah right! Well he goes "let me go get some clothes on." We said "great we will wait right here" 15 min later and knocking on the door TWICE. . we were still waiting for him to come back! HE LEFT US AT THE DOOR!!!! and NEVER came back! His roommate came home and so we asked him to remind Nathaniel that we are still waiting. His roommate comes back 5 min later and tells us that he is in the shower. The member with us could see inside and he was SITTING on the COUCH still with no clothes on!! YUP that happened. We couldn't believe it!!! lol due to that we went to lunch with the member, we road our bikes, and on our way we contact a guy that was in our path. Lex! We set up a time to go and teach him. Saturday. . holy cow! He is another "Kent" he has been prepared and his ready for this gospel! He has accepted the Lord's invitation to be baptized on July 17! He is so excited and can't wait to start coming to church this upcoming Sunday! I love when investigators come to church on fast Sunday! :-)
This week is one to always remember! We taught a lot of lesson's. In one lesson a kid named John. I had just gotten done testifying. . so incredible, he is ready for the gospel as well. . looking into his eyes. . the spirit was powerful and he goes "wow, you are cocky!" hahah what! I said "humm that isn't a good thing, because that isn't a good word" lol he said "No I mean. you are very confident when what you are saying." These "gangsters" and their slang words, really! hahaha it was funny. We are working closely with him and help him see that baptism is the right step, especially if you know the Book of Mormon is true and Joseph Smith is a true Prophet. Silly college students! How I love it here!!!
