HELLO!!!
This week so much has happened! Funny story: Last night we were teaching David, the kid who like his "special brownies" Weed. So we start with a prayer, on which he asked me to offer it. I start the prayer and I say . . ."thanks for letting us be here with Ricky. . . ." David goes. . . . "DAAAAAANNNNG (I cleaned it up), seriously!!" IN THE MIDDLE OF ME PRAYING! Yes I called him the wrong name, and he let me know that he was not happy with that! Oops! Too many gators to keep in line, and when they ALL LOOK the same! You have to be so careful to keep them straight! I can't believe that happened. I couldn't contain myself from laughter so Sister Wilks continued the prayer for me! Blast! Really!! Hahaha Funny story for the week! Hope you all enjoyed it has much as I did.
This week, we have been working close with the gators we have, while also finding more. We are trying to balance everything and what not. I went to New Symrna Beach over the weekend on exchanges. I saw the Atlantic Ocean for the first time! It was cool. We taught a lot of people. A big change from being in the city and teaching students. We taught old people and families! One family we contacted was awesome! Part member family, their 12 year girl was never baptized and wants it so bad! We taught her for the first time and the spirit was so powerful that she was bawling and tears were coming down my face! She is so sweet, and it kind of gets me excited to be in a family area. We will see in a couple of weeks what will happen there.
Kent is now in Mississippi. It was really hard to say good-bye to him. Part of me went with him. But he is where he needs to be and I hear that his parent’s baptism was great! I am sure if you talk to Aunt Ruth and get a hold of Elder Higgins email home you will hear all about it :-)
I hit my 7 month mark! I can tell you that The Lord has shaped me to be a better missionary in these 7 months, and I am changed. I am excited that I still have a lot of time left, because the next 7 are going to be AMAZING!!!!! I am not done letting the Lord shape me and change me yet! We had a lot of people at church again! Church is so stressful! Getting gators there and having them be fellowshipped! So when night comes, I hit the pillow and I am out! Ha-ha LOVE IT! Natasha was confirmed a member of the church. It was beautiful! I love that girl!
Thank you all so much for your prayers and all the support! I LOVE You ALL so much and hope that this week of yours is happy and positive! For me this week. . . We have a sister's gathering! FUN! Today we are going bowling as a district! I will represent the Durr Clan!
All My Love
Sister Shannon Durr
