Hello!!!
What another wonderful that I get to tell you all about! But not knowing where to start is the hardest part. I want to thank you all for the letters that I received this week. I can honestly tell you that the letters I did get came at a time that I needed them most. You will be hearing back from me.
This past week was one of learning and humbling experiences. This work is not easy especially when no one listens to the message of the restored gospel, and Satan eats at you! I am happy to report that we are teaching six people that are slowly progressing towards making that sacred covenant with God. Slowly but surely, line upon line.
The weather was different for us this week. We did feel the hurricane. We even got a tornado warring. . But no actual tornado:-) Florida is the number one state in the nation for lighting. Thursday was the day that is rained ALL DAY LONG, with TONS of incredible lighting and thunder! Therefore due to the lighting we had to stay inside and find productive things to do. Which wasn't hard because I love reading the scriptures and updating paper work. AKA evaluating our investigators and myself. I also got approved to be a "part time" driver. Which means that I have been cleared because my driving record is clean! Lol. I can drive when my comp can't, so when I am commanded to drive, I will. (Insurance still has to go through) hahaha So cool that Kevin gets to drive. lol KEVIN! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! How was your Birthday little brother? Your first one in the field! I hope it was good! I hope you liked all the mail and packages you received. I can't wait to hear from you on how your special day was made special! Congrats on the baptism dates! I will pray for you and the work and that you and your comp will be guided to the Lord elect!
The people we are teaching. We taught some Jamaicans, Their accents were so thick it was kind of hard to understand, but the spirit speaks to all people. It was a neat experience. One thing that has been on my mind for all last week . . . There is a girl in the ward, two weeks ago she feed us :-) which doesn't happen very often. Her roommates aren't members and so we try to talk to them when we go over there. Her one roommate Angela was there the last time we were there. She was talking to us and such, being a devote Christian we talked about religion! YAY right! She is currently going through a divorce and so I was giving her words of comfort by talking about the Atonement and how I have seen it help in my life. I testified to her a few times while talking telling her that through the Atonement all heartache and pain can be eased. A few days after that, a crazy drunk drive entered the freeway. . Going the wrong direction and hit her head on. She passed away this past Sunday. Death can come at us at any time in our lives, especially when our time on earth is up. She was meant to pass. But with this experience it has opened my eyes that I don’t know what peoples lives will end up as. I must share my testimony with everyone! That is what I want to encourage you all to do. Live the gospel. Let it be part of your lives. Be that example of the believers like we learned this weekend. Share your testimony of the truth you know when all those around you!
General Conference was AMAZING!!! As a missionary you have a different focus. I watched for me but was also inspired for the people investigating the church that we are teaching. How I love how the spirit works and give us what we need to help others! I learned so much and can't wait for the Ensign to come next month.
We had four investigators watch conference! We know of three that absolutely LOVED it! We meet with them this week to really talk about it and discuss how we can apply what we learned to our current lives. It will be fantastic. I can't wait!
This work is moving along. There is NO ONE who can stop it!! I am grateful to be a part of this church and to be a servant of God! This work is truly one to be a part of! I encourage you to go out and serve and help the full-time missionaries in the work of the Lord!
I think of you all often and pray in your behalf every night! I love you all so much!!!!
