GOODMORNING UTAH! The sun is shining here is Daytona Beach, Florida. It is warm outside and no sign of rain in the sky. I am happy to report that all is well here and I am doing SO GREAT! So is Sister Lima!
For this week. Frist of all. The seven man bike activity that we participated in last Monday. . . We road it around New Syrmna. We stopped and talked to everyone we saw. We contacted three people, getting their information. We meet some other cool people that stopped us to talk. We even gave rides to two potentials, which had a blast! Sister Lima and I could NOT STOP LAUGHING!! The whole time. We still can't stop talking about it and it was a week ago. This really built our friendship with the other missionaries. Hahahaha
As for the people we are teaching:
Cecil and Rose are doing great. They are still set to be baptized on April 7! We know that our relationship with them is really strong, we are aware of the barrier that this might cause and are working on getting them friends besides us, because we won’t be here forever. I wish there was an easier way to get friends for the gators we find. The cool thing with Cecil and Rose. They have a son that is a hermit. This past week he has come out into the living room and stayed for a couple of minutes. This is a big deal! We gave him a Book of Mormon and invited him to read it. We also learned at church yesterday, from them, that he has been listening to whole time, every time that we are there- through a hole in the wall! Our goal- to have him sits in the living room with us. The teaching pool is low and we planned to go out and find this week. We know that the Lord is going to bless us, but most importantly bless the ones that we are to find until the ward can pick up their duties. Lots of Prayer and persistence! TJ- we have not been able to get a hold of at all this week. It is hard when the first lesson is so powerful and then you don’t hear from them! It creates a downer feeling for sure! But I have a great companion. She is a great example to me of happy positive attitude and not letting anything get her down! I am taking a lot of notes from her so I will continue to be like this! It is such a great attribute to have!
We had 4 people at church yesterday- It was one of the best meetings ever! There is a member of the ward that got up and bore his testimony. He shared a Scripture from the Book of Mormon. . Mormon 9: 18-19. Last year he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. His chance of surviving this was 9%. He read this scripture and said that he is a walking Miracle. Sure enough he is now Cancer FREE!! Holy cow. I meet him my first day in the area he looked Sick ya know. And now. . Seriously pure miracle! It was an awesome meeting. Our recent convert Carrie even went up and bore her testimony as well!! So incredible how the gospel can bless our lives and families! God is a God of miracles and He wants to bless us! I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ can heal anyone!!! I have seen it. I am a witness of the Atonement and I will stand next to my Savior and TESTIFY to anyone!!! I love this work of the Lord! Anyone would be lucky to go on a mission and or listen to the missionaries!
We have been teaching a lot of first lessons. To people who are over the age of 60. We go to this one community. The Sunday music thing that we are going to e every week for an hour. Funny Story- Yesterday we were teaching a lady we met there named Peggy. In the middle of her lesson another old lady that we had never meet before came to Peggy's house and told us that everyone was looking for us to get the office to sing with them. Hahahaha we don’t know how she knew that we were at Peggy's house but it was sooooo funny that they came to look for us! Hahahaha we are going to convert all these people that live in this retired community!! Lol
General Conference is going to be AMAZING and I hope that you all will watch, and listen- try not to fall asleep! I am so excited for conference. It is always uplifting and wonderful to listen to the Prophet, Seers and Revelators!
I love this work and I feel so blessed to be here in Daytona!!
