HELLO ONE AND ALL!
I have SOO MUCH to report on!! The Key things that happened this week. I am so excited to tell you. I hope you will feel my joy that I am having in the service of our Father in Heaven! READY GET SET. . GO!
Guess what!!!! Rose and Cecil accepted BAPTISM!! It took 6 weeks, of prayers, fasting, sweat, tears, more prayers and prayers! .Last Monday Rose told us that on Sunday she will know from the Lord if this is what she needs to do, Cecil agreed with her. We had daily contact with them and had members with us at their lesson's. They came to church. We had people greet them and sit with them! Incredible! We went over there last night and asked them what the Lord had told them. Rose received the revelation that she was looking for, what we already knew and what she already knew too but needed that confirmation. Cecil is still a little hesitant because he wants to come to church more and wants to know more, no problem. We will continue to share pure doctrine and the spirit will continue to teach them both. April 7 is the special day and they are both looking forward to be baptized! It was a great day! Rose and Cecil was the icing. Sister Lima and I have worked so hard with them and have wrestled with the Lord on what we could do to get them to this point in their progression.
I have felt the hand of the Lord. He is guiding this work. That is one thing that I know sister Lima has helped me see and feel, that all this is on His time. That if we are patient with the Lord's children it will all work out! And that it has!!
TJ is a new gator that we taught yesterday. This week we had the car. The Sun was shining all week so one day we decided to bike. With that choice the Lord placed a guy in our path. TJ. He is so ready for this gospel. The Lesson we had was led by the spirit. The Holy Ghost is the real and ultimate teacher and a result of that was TJ not wanting to stop smiling and excited for what we were sharing with him. He said the most sincere prayer. We see him again this week. We can't wait. We are working with Robert and Diana still. We found out that Robert is not a member of this Church. He wants to get baptized but can't until he and Diana get separate homes. I know exactly what Kevin is talking about when it comes to people living together who want to get baptized but don’t want to get married or move out. UG!!! We are working on helping them have options and working with the Bishop on how we can best help them, and to learn if he really wants salvation enough to change his living situation. The Lord has truly blessed Sister Lima and me this week. We recognize Him in everything that we do and all that we have been given!
On Wednesday we went to the International Speedway to get our car serviced. So while we were waiting we walked to contact people. Our first person we talked to, Bill, an alien from outer space! NO WAY! Needless to say he wasn't listening to us, so we gave him a pass-along card. Lol People are so interesting! We had a Sister's training on Thursday. That was a lot of fun to be with President and Sister Hall for a couple hours and to see all the sisters!! Loved it all!
Funny story. You remember when I told you 6 weeks ago that there is a Brother Durr in the ward. Well we went to see him on Saturday. We pull up to his house. . In a black neighborhood. I look at sister Lima, "what if brother Durr is black?" hahahaha we go to knock on his door. As we all know We Durr's are big fans of the Dallas Cowboys, and Brother Durr had Dallas Cowboy stuff on over his porch! "No way . . . this guy is totally a Durr" We knock and from inside there is a voice "Who is it?" "This is the missionaries, we are here to talk to Morgan." he said "About what?" us: "About Jesus Christ, and we have the same last name, we are related!" him: "No way! FOR REALS" We had to get him to open his door. Sure enough he did, and there standing in front of us was A BLACK MAN!!! Hahahaha we died laughing! Lol I still can't help up to laugh. We invited him to come to church. He wants us to come back, which is golden because his wife is not a member :-) o boy. He always said to me "You resemble a cousin of mine in Georgia!" hahahaha does he know that I am white? Lol He was so excited, he invited us in but his wife wasn't home. He wants to talk family history. He said that he wanted to join a true church and in 2008 missionaries found him. We just now need to get him back to church. He wanted to give me a BIG HUG when we left. Hahahaha IT WAS SO FUNNY! I wish you could all have been there! Seriously! Hahahaha he said that he only knows of two Durr's that live in Florida. Only him and his dad. . And now ME!!! Lol O my goodness!
I am happy to report, as we received Transfer Email this morning that Sister Lima and I are staying here in Daytona Beach for another 6 weeks. We knew that we would be because there are still things that the Lord needs us to do!
I love you all so much and hope that you are doing well, and had a safe St Patty's Day! We did as there were BIKERS EVERYWHERE!!!! P.S. I hit my 13 month mark on Thursday! I still can't believe that Kevin has such a "long time" left!!!! EKKK. Love you Elder!
